Sr. Pastor , Clinton Yancy & Lady, Kimberley Yancy

Clinton L. Yancy, Sr., Pastor/Founder of New Vision Church, was born on December 26, 1971, to Rev. & Mrs. W. C. Yancy, Sr. in Texas City, TX. Early on, it was noticed that he had a call on his life to be a servant of God. While a freshman in high school, Pastor Yancy sensed that God was calling him into the ministry to preach His Word. On a fall night on October 4, 1986, before a standing room only crowd at his father’s church, New Hope Bible Church in La Marque, TX, C. L. stood for the first time to preach the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a teenage preacher, he was in constant demand to preach all over. Over the years, he was groomed by his father and pastor to be a student of the Word. He was taught that when preaching, souls literally hang in the balance, so be careful and studious. C. L. continued to grow in ministry when he moved to Austin, Texas in March of 1994, to join Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor A.W.A. Mays. There, he truly blossomed in the ministry and received fruitful instruction from Pastor Mays. He continued to serve faithfully at Mt. Sinai until the Lord called C. L.’s father from labor to reward in November 1996. He went back home and commuted every weekend to serve as Interim Pastor at New Hope from January through April. He was officially installed as Pastor on Father’s Day in June of 1997. For 13 years, he served faithfully at New Hope, where many lives were changed as a result of his leadership. The church grew in every way while there. However, once again Pastor Yancy sensed the leadership of the Holy Spirit to found a 2nd location church in the League City/Kemah Bay Area. As God purposed, He told Pastor C.L. Yancy, Sr. a few weeks later to focus wholeheartedly on the new church and so with bittersweet affection and memories, he resigned from the church that allowed him to “practice” on them for over 20 many years, but it was time to move on to Higher heights in ministry.

Pastor C.L. Yancy, Sr. continues to be a student of God’s Word, so he is currently completing seminary studies with the College of Biblical Studies and works with Lifeway Christian Book Stores in the Bay Area. His seminary academic goals are to obtain a doctorate degree in theology. He understands that the more God equips him, the more he can equip his congregation. With almost 25 years in the gospel ministry, Pastor Yancy continues to possesses a heart for delivering the Word of God through an exuberant and expository style of preaching primarily found in the Baptist, COGIC, and Assembly of God denominations. Pastor Yancy illustrates a love of traditional and contemporary worship. He can raise up an old one hundred hymn as well as flow in the spirit of praise and worship with Israel Houghton. He is a gifted musician and is a known gospel songster. He is often heard saying, œIf God had not called me to preach and concentrate on the gospel, He would have led me to the courts of Praise & Worship to lead His people in Worship.

Pastor Yancy is a rarity in a society where the power of the cross has seemed to have been forgotten in most American pulpits. He remains in high demand to churches and regularly ministers across the state and beyond. He is known as a masterful “Hoopologist” in the Baptist and Charismatic tradition style of expository preaching and offers other upcoming young preachers insight into this skill. Pastor Yancy stands poised in this new ministry to reach the first unchurched generation in America and teach them the reality of the One True God and how God brings value to any and all generations who believe and call upon His Son, Jesus, the Christ. He is the proud 2nd Vice Moderator of the American Baptist Eastern General Association of Texas. Pastor Yancy is the husband of 20 years to Kimberley Yancy and the father of four, Joshua, William Caleb, Jennifer and Clinton Jr. (CJ),
